I’ve broken everything down into categories to make things easier to follow!

Transportation and Travel

Graco FastAction Fold Jogger Travel System – After doing a lot of research on travel systems before having our son, we settled on this one. We have no regrets! I loved having a travel system for the ease of moving the car seat from the car to the stroller and vice versa. It’s super easy to maneuver through all kind of terrain and not too heavy or chunky. It’s held up so well over the years we’ve had it!

You can also buy either the stroller or the car seat separately.

Boba Baby Carrier – Carrying your baby is the easiest way to get things done, especially in those first few months. I loved baby wearing, and D loved being worn. Sometimes it was the only way he would nap. I love this one because it really combines the light wrap carriers with the firmer frames of the buckle carriers.

Nursery

DaVinci Kalani 4-in-1 Crib – There are lots of different options when it comes to cribs, but really it just comes down to your preferred style and color! I like the 4-in-1s so you know it can grow with your child.

Hypoallergenic Crib Mattress – For crib mattresses you generally want one that is more on the firm side for safety reasons. I love this hypoallergenic one made from better materials, with a waterproof cover!

Baby Bassinet – A lot of people decide to keep their baby in the room with them for the first 6 months to a year. This is especially helpful if you’re breastfeeding. Either way, it’s nice to have baby nice and close for the first little while if it works for you.

Graco Pack ‘n Play – Pack ‘n Plays are great for having somewhere safe to place baby while they sleep or play, and you go about your day. They’re great for travel for obvious reasons!

Delta Children Convertible Changing Table – I really like this changing table because it has a drawer to store diapers in, as well as a shelf to easily access other diaper changing items.

Delta Children Blair Slim Nursery Glider – A comfortable rocking glider is a necessity for those middle of the night feeds and rocking sessions. My son is over two and we still snuggle up in it together before bed!

Motorola Comfort75 Video Baby Monitor – A good baby monitor is every parent’s dream. You can’t go wrong with this one that has great clear views, pan scan, night vision, and temperature monitoring.

Feeding Baby

Bottles – I personally used these phillips Avent Bottles and they worked wonderfully for my son when I wasn’t around to nurse him. I’ve also heard amazing things about Como Tomo and Tommee Tippee!

Nursing Bras – Honestly I haven’t nursed my son in over a year and I still sometimes wear nursing bras. They are soo comfy!

Breast Pump – If you plan on pumping at all, there are a lot of great choices out there. The top few are the Spectra and the Medela Pumps. I also LOVED my Haakaa for catching extra milk on one side while nursing on the other. I stored up quite a stash using the Haakaa alone!

Earth’s Best Organic Formula – If you don’t plan on breastfeeding, Earth’s Best Formula is highly rated! You may have to try a few different ones to see what your baby likes. Talk to your doctor if you’re having trouble finding the best one for your baby!

Nipple Cream – Those first few weeks of breastfeeding can get a bit painful as your baby learns how to latch properly and your body gets used to it. You’re absolutely going to want nipple cream to make things less painful for you!

Nursing Pads – Some women leak more than others, but you may leak more as your milk comes in and adjusts to how much your baby needs. These will help keep your clothes from getting soaked!

Diapering

Diapers – Huggies are great, and whatever diapers you get you can save by subscribing to deliveries on Amazon!

Cloth Diapers – If you want to cloth diaper these are great! They are adjustable so they grow with your baby and come in lots of different colors and styles.

Earth Mama Organic Diaper Balm – Little baby bums are so sensitive you’re going to want some diaper cream. I love Earth Mama products because they have the best clean ingredients.

Diaper Bag – I love a good diaper bag that has lots of space, pockets, and is super cute! This one also has stroller straps and insulated pockets for bottles and snacks.

Health and Bathing

Grooming Care Kit – This kit is nice because it comes with all the little things you don’t really think about needing for your baby, such as tiny nail clippers, combs, and medicine bottles.

Baby Bath Tub – Our son used this bath tub right up until he was about a year old! It was great for growing with your baby.

Thermometer – A touchless thermometer is really easy to use for wriggly babies. This one is great for either in their ear, on their forehead or touchless, as well as for bottle temperatures.

Body Wash – A nice calming lavender bedtime bath wash with great ingredients is what you want!

Lotion – My son had sensitive skin as a baby (as most babies do) so I found a good, natural lotion after bath time was key. Honest Co. sensitive lotion worked great, as well as Aveeno Oatmeal baby lotion.

How to Have a Baby on a Budget

Clothing and Comfort

Swaddles and Sleep Sacks – I love any kind of swaddle that has Velcro so you can really wrap baby up, particularly if you have a Houdini baby like me. Sleep sacks are great for when you can’t swaddle them anymore but still want them wrapped up. My son still moves around a lot in his sleep and a blanket rarely ever stays on him, so sleep sacks are great for the winter months especially!

Onesies – You can get packs of them on Amazon! Babies live in onesies and they’re great for layering.

Sleepers – There’s so many cute ones out there! When my son was really young, basically all he wore were onesies and sleepers.

Scratch Mittens – Baby nails are sharp no matter how many times you cut them! They can’t control their arms and end up scratching their faces. The adjustable ones are nice because the elastic ones don’t tend to stay on flailing hands very well.

Hats – To keep their bald little heads warm!

Socks – You’ll want lots of these because they are super easy to lose… trust me…

Cute Outfits – Who doesn’t love adorable baby outfits!? I love jumper sets especially because they’re cute and comfy for little movers. I find it can be hard to find cute boy outfits so Amazon is a great place to start!

Blankets – You can never have too many baby blankets. They are especially nice for covering up your baby in the car seat so you don’t have to bundle up your baby and risk the straps not being tight enough on your baby’s body.

Other Gear

Baby Swing – I like this one because it comes with a built-in bouncer as well! Some babies prefer one over the other.

Boppy/Lounger – Loungers are great when you need to put your baby down somewhere safe.

Bouncer – I love having a swing and a bouncer because bouncers are a lot more portable!

High Chair – High chairs that have a good foot rest for your baby, easily removable trays, and are relatively compact are the best.

Teethers – Tip: Put your baby’s teethers in the fridge or freezer! They help relieve some of the pain a lot more when they’re cold.

Pacifiers – Some babies may not take pacifiers (my son didn’t) and you may have to try a few before you find one your baby likes.

Play Gym – Play gyms are wonderful to keep your baby distracted and entertained. You can hang all sorts of different things from them!

I hope this list helped you create an awesome, well-informed baby registry!
